Air Travel

Stornoway has an airport with services linking to Inverness and Glasgow and beyond!

If arriving by air you might need a hire car and there are several companies able to provide this service. Carhire Hebrides and Lewis Car Rental will both supply cars to the Stornoway Airport or the Ferry Terminal. MacKinnon Self Drive and Stornoway Car Hire also have a wide range of cars for hire.

Vehicle Ferries

Caledonian MacBrayne runs a number of vehicle ferry routes between the Western Isles and to the Scottish mainland. You can choose to travel to Ullapool and take the ferry to Stornoway, or go over the Skye Bridge to get to Uig in Skye, and then take a ferry to Tarbert. The “Cal-Mac” ferry service also provides links all the way from Oban, in Argyll, to Barra in the south of the Outer Hebrides and via the Leverburgh service to Harris.

Really excellent cottage with everything we could possibly want.

Brilliant cottage in a perfect location for the islands. Beautifully presented.

Very nice little cottage with sea view and in ideal location for excursions. In walking distance to Tarbert with shops and pubs but at the same time offering a remote holiday feeling as no neighbouring houses can be seen.
